The MirrorSourceConnector replicates records from source to target clusters and enables offset synchronization. The main MirrorMaker components are actually Kafka connectors as follows. It uses the Kafka Connect framework to simplify configuration and scaling. Kafka MirrorMaker - MirrorMaker is designed to make it easier to mirror or replicate topics from one Kafka cluster to another. Kafka Exporter - Kafka Exporter extracts data for analysis as Prometheus metrics, primarily data relating to offsets, consumer groups, consumer lag and topics. A sink connector extracts data out of Kafka. A source connector pushes external data into Kafka. It is thus very easy to integrate existing systems with Kafka.
